Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Committee’s (CPAC) 2023 conference in Washington, Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) threatened repercussions against government agencies that don’t work with Republicans on their investigations.

Perry attacked various Democrat federal policies, including a COVID-19 vaccination requirement imposed by the Biden administration, during his March 2 comments.

He made his controversial statements, arguing that the government does not have the right to tell people they must buy an electric vehicle or that they must put an experimental drug in their arm.

The lawmaker conveyed his belief that the American government is attacking the nation’s sovereignty, state sovereignty, and personal sovereignty.

“They’ve got to be put on notice. They’ve got to be quaking in fear,” Perry said of the Biden administration officials pushing for more regulation on Americans.

“They’ve got to be worried. They’ve got to be losing weight because they’re not eating because they’re worried that they’re going to end up going to jail for using the awesome power of the federal government,” Perry stated.

The congressman promised to use the government to make his political opposition afraid.

“And if they’re not interested in showing up in Mr. Jordan’s hearing, you know what? I’m in charge now on the Transportation Committee of Federal Leases,” suggesting that he would use this power to punish his political opponents via their office space.

“That’s something I wonder, who’s leases might become ... Well, we’re taking a look at the list,” he said to applause from the crowd.

The Pennsylvania lawmaker went on to say that the average citizen needs to “acknowledge and accept that every single facet of the federal government is weaponizing against every single one of us.”

He said that people should stand up for their own, their states’, and their own right to self-govern.

Perry went on: “The government doesn’t have the right to tell you that you can’t buy a gas stove but that you must buy an electric vehicle. That you can’t go to work but you must put some experimental potion in your arm and then keep showing up to do that to visit your church of worship.

“Our personal sovereignty is what this nation was built on, and ... it is under assault by every single facet of the government,” he said.

House Republicans are leading several investigations into the Biden administration’s alleged “weaponization” of government agencies.

The GOP-controlled House pushed through a measure to establish a Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government in January.

The subcommittee, which is a part of the House Judiciary Committee, is presided over by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio). It will look into a range of issues, such as whether the FBI has tried to silence conservative viewpoints.
