A September 2019 World Health Organization (WHO) report specifically warned about the potential for a global outbreak of an airborne virus, noting that the world was not prepared for this type of a pandemic. As these events unfolded and the outbreak took hold, so did the subsequent cover-up of the virus’s origin.
September, 2019 brought the first signs that something was amiss in Wuhan. The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) database of viral sequences was suddenly taken off line in the middle of the night. News reports later claimed there may have been a hazardous event at the lab. According to the U.S. Consul General in Wuhan, Russell Westergard, “by mid October 2019, the dedicated team at the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan knew that the city had been struck by what was thought to be an unusually vicious flu season.”
In November 2019, the U.S. Consul General reported to Washington that the spread of the disease had worsened. At the same time, three lab workers at the WIV were hospitalized for COVID-like symptoms. As these events were transpiring, U.S. military intelligence officials warned that “a contagion was sweeping through China’s Wuhan region,” stating it could be a “cataclysmic event.”
By mid November, 2019, the disease had taken a foothold in Wuhan, even though it was not formally identified as COVID-19 for another month or so. The CCP (Communist Party of China) closed schools and worked to contain the spread of the virus, while making no announcement to the outside world and disregarding warnings coming from other countries such as Taiwan about the potential outbreak. Then, 2020 followed with the outbreak of a worldwide pandemic and an organized effort to cover up the origins of the pandemic, involving scientists, science journals, the media, intelligence community, and Big Tech.
On Jan. 5, 2020, Edward Holmes, a scientist with deep connections to the CCP, obtained the full genomic sequence of COVID-19. This sequence was key to developing a vaccine and therapeutics, as well as discovering the origins. He did not share this information publicly due to pressure from CCP authorities. Fauci-funded scientists would soon begin praising the CCP’s response to the virus and join Holmes in promoting the natural origins narrative.
On Feb. 1, 2020, once Fauci’s funding connection to the WIV was made known to the media, Fauci hastily convened a secret teleconference with a small group of scientists. In his meeting, multiple scientists were on record saying they were 60–80 percent sure the virus came from a lab. At the same time, these same scientists had already drafted a letter promoting the natural origins theory. These scientists also discussed reaching out to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom. Although unclear exactly what they wanted to talk with Tedros about, it appears to be connected to suppressing speculation on a possible lab leak. Only two days later, Tedros issued his Report of the Director-General, dismissing the lab leak theory and calling to “combat the spread of rumors and misinformation” as well as for Big Tech to use its social media platforms to continue to take steps to “limit the spread of misinformation.”
Weeks later, the scientists’ letter was published, promoting the natural origins theory in direct contradiction to what they expressed to believe in private. The scientists who had ties to the Wuhan lab came out to label all non-natural origins narratives as conspiracy theories. Together, and with the help of the media and Big Tech, they were able to shape public opinion.
Eventually the natural origins narrative began to crack. The WHO first stated it was unlikely that the virus came from a lab leak, later admitting this statement was the result of pressure from the CCP. Eventually, Tedros openly challenged this report, and said that all hypotheses should be on the table. The lab leak theory, which had been ridiculed and dismissed by the mainstream narrative as misinformation, was now being openly questioned by governments and scientists across the world.
Eighteen prominent scientists, including Ralph Baric, a collaborator with Shi Zhengli, (the researcher at the Wuhan lab who would learn how to isolate and manipulate the bat viruses, and later become the director of the WIV), wrote an open letter in the Science journal calling for the investigation and consideration of the lab leak theory hypothesis. One of the co-signers of the “Proximal Origin” letter which promoted the natural origins theory, came out and said he had changed his mind on whether the virus had come out of the Wuhan lab, stating that “it shouldn’t have happened. People should not be looking at bat viruses in BSL-2 labs.”
On June 4, after mounting pressure and evidence, Fauci himself publicly admitted that the virus may have originated from a lab leak at the WIV. On Aug. 27, 2021, the Intelligence Community issued a report stating that the issue was inconclusive. The reality is that the Intelligence Community had gone to great lengths to ignore an abundance of publicly available evidence and instead lamented that China had not shared necessary data. Most of this evidence can be found in the infographic provided by “Truth Over News” and published by The Epoch Times.
Peter Dazsak and Shi Zhengli spent 15 years developing sophisticated techniques for manipulating bat viruses with the sole aim of making them more transmissible to humans. A year later, a virus with the exact feature described in their blueprint emerged in Wuhan and spread to the rest of the earth.
