Canada Must Face All Aspects of Huawei Problem

Canada thinks that it has a two-dimensional Huawei Corporation problem, involving legalities on the one hand and the threat posed by a capable Huawei on the other.

Extradition 

First, dealing with the U.S. extradition request for the Deputy Chairperson and CFO of Huawei Corporation, Meng Wanzhou, when the Beijing government has pronounced Meng totally innocent and the extradition request should be rejected.  Ottawa has responded that it is a “rule of law” issue, and it was legally treaty-bound to consider the U.S. extradition request.  In subsequent court filings, Washington has doubled-down, detailing Meng-Huawei violations of U.S. sanctions against Iran.
