The Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held a Mid-Autumn Festival banquet on Sept. 5 in New York City, and invited representatives from all walks of life to celebrate the withdrawal of 400 million Chinese from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Nearly 500 people, including VIPS from New York’s multinational organization “Celebrity International,” business people, representatives of the United Nations, members of the two U.S. political parties, representatives of the media, film and television stars, and volunteers who help people around the world to quit the party, attended the gathering.

Yi Rong, Chairperson of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP (Tuidang Center) said at the banquet, “It’s a long journey for the 400 million Chinese people to quit the CCP. It is the result of hard work by volunteers, especially in China. They risk their lives to persuade people to withdraw from the CCP and [have] made huge sacrifices for it”

“This is just the beginning. We believe that more Chinese quitting the CCP will accelerate the downfall of the Party. At the same time, we look forward to seeing a new China without communism.”

She particularly thanked The Epoch Times for publishing the book “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” which triggered the tide of quitting the CCP, and media such as NTDTV and Sound of Hope that contributed to the cause.

“Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” was written by a group of experts on China and published in 2004. Its in-depth analysis with detailed historical facts fully exposes the true nature of the CCP to the world.

Jacqui Phillips, TV host of “Joy in Our Town” on Trinity Broadcast Network, who has also hosted several shows on NBC and CBS, was among the guests at the banquet. She is also a Hollywood beauty expert, a judge for the Emmy Awards, social activist, and a published writer.

She said that the 400 million people who quit the CCP are changing the world and she and everyone there are witness to it. “I want you to know how courageous your actions are. They are inspirational more than words can ever explain,” she said. “You are the hope of China. The hope of freedom, justice, and human rights.”

She praised the volunteers who help Chinese people to quit membership in the CCP, “Because of the great pain your people have suffered, you have turned your pain to purpose, and because of you, the 400 million plus people have used their pain for purpose.”

Frederick Newcomb, American Republican dignitary, major Republican funder, billionaire, investment fund president, international political activist, and honorary chairman and senior consultant of the World Human Accountability Organization, attended the banquet with his wife.

Newcomb said that he’s honored to celebrate “the illustrious occasion” of 400 million brave Chinese quitting the CCP at the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival banquet. The movement shares the same values as the founding values of the United States.

“The beauty of our common bond, that of freedom, fairness, and equality, is the shared happenstance,” he said. “Together we all share the warm feeling of similar histories from whence we all came.”

U.S. Democratic party senior lawyer Robert Lang cited his idol former president J.F. Kennedy’s remarks on communism: “He said that all problems are dwarfed by the necessity of the West to maintain against the Communists a balance of power. He also stated that containment was necessary not only for safety of the United States, but also because of the threat communism posed in political and economic spheres.”

“His insight was reaffirmed in the book ‘The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party’ which sparked the quitting the CCP global movement. Now, the containment sought by all past presidents, including Kennedy, has been achieved by the quitting CCP movement, which is simply admirable and exciting,” Lang said.

Ni Yuxian, chairman of the overseas China Liberal Democratic Party, said that he couldn’t miss the event to celebrate the withdrawal of 400 million people from the CCP. “Falun Gong practitioners published the ‘Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,’ which I think is the most thorough revelation of the evil nature of the CCP. But after the quitting CCP movement started, I had a different view as an old timer democracy movement activist.” He said, “But after more than 10 years, the quitting movement has now become the biggest movement to shake the foundation of the CCP. So it’s absolutely correct.”

During the banquet, the organizers presented a program of traditional Chinese culture and artistic performances, and auctioned some art pieces during the evening. Several guests bought paintings and donated them to the center.
