NTD, The Epoch Times’ sister media, has expanded its service in Washington by partnering with local TV station WJAL. NTD has also added a new 24/7 channel on Comcast in San Francisco.
The new launch makes NTD available to nearly 4 million additional cable subscribers.
NTD currently broadcasts 24/7 on WJAL’s primary channel 68.1. WJAL is a full-power must-carry TV station licensed by the FCC. According to the must-carry rules, NTD programs are carried simultaneously on all local cable systems in the Greater Washington area. Viewers can watch NTD through Comcast CH68, Cox CH28 and CH1028, Direct TV CH65, Dish CH68, RCN CH55, and Verizon FiOS CH33. In San Francisco, viewers can find NTD on Comcast CH77 and CH1091.
NTD features a wide range of programs, including independent news, current affairs, classical arts, and cultural programs. It produces and broadcasts more than five hours of original programs every day, with news as its feature programs. Its arts and lifestyle programs embody universal values and celebrate the best of humanity’s culture and traditions.
“We are excited about the new expansion in Washington and San Francisco after the successful launch in New York and Los Angeles markets in July. The growth of NTD is to meet the strong need for real journalism on-screen, and we are committed to bringing out our best,” said John Tang, president of NTD.
NTD was rolled out as a 24/7 English TV network in 2020. It is now carried by all local cable systems in three major markets: New York (via WMBC 63.1), Los Angeles (via KVMD 31.1), and Washington (via WJAL 68.1).
In San Francisco and Chicago, viewers can watch NTD through Comcast. NTD is also distributed via Verizon FiOS and Frontier Communications’ TV services.
Currently, NTD has reached 23 million cable, satellite, and telco subscribers in the United States. In the U.K., NTD is available to over 20 million TV homes through Sky TV 190 and Freeview 271 through Channel box.
In addition, to serve viewers watching TV with antennas, NTD has 65 television affiliates reaching more than 60 million homes across the United States. Since viewers are watching more streaming video content, NTD has developed its streaming services as well. NTD’s free app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and from Google Play. NTD’s streaming services can also be found on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV, as well as Sony Smart TV.
