The Brooklyn Nets, just one day after signing Andray Blatche, have announced the signing of free agent forward Josh Childress, according to a report on the league’s website.
Nets general manager Billy King announced the signing Thursday. Specific terms weren’t disclosed, though it’s a one-year, non-guaranteed deal.
The 6-foot, 8-inch Childress was the sixth overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft out of Stanford by the Hawks. After four seasons in Atlanta, he played overseas in Greece for two years before coming to Phoenix in 2010, where the 29-year-old has come off the bench the last two seasons.
In 373 NBA games, Childress has averaged 9.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and has made 52.4 percent of his field goal attempts.
