Miami Police Department detectives were reviewing surveillance video on Oct. 16, from a gas station where missing Wisconsin girl Jayme Closs was possibly spotted by a witness in Florida late Monday.
The call was made by an unknown person and the Miami tip appears to be the best lead officers have had so far.
Anwer said around 11 a.m. EST that the detectives had finished and were returning to the police department to enhance the image from the video.
She said she was personally watching the video. “Video isn’t clear, but the young girl in the vehicle in question doesn’t appear to be restrained or in a captive situation,” she said.
The witness said that two well-dressed men, Middle Eastern in origin, estimated to be in their 30s, around 6'0” and weighing over 200 pounds each, were also in the Explorer.
The sheriff is following up on the info as a tip but doubts the timing, noting that it’s 20 hours driving distance away from Barron.
Officials planned to give updates on the case at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. CDT, which is an hour behind EDT.
