Mayra Alejandra Rodriguez, a famed Venezuelan actress, has died at age 59 from cancer.
Her family and state foundation La Casa del Artista reported the death on Thursday, reported El Nuevo Dia.
Rodriguez was particularly known for her role in the telenovela “Leonela” as well as other television productions such as “Angelica” and “Louisiana Child.”
She is survived by her son Salvador, whom she had with Mexican actor Salvador Pineda.
She began acting at age 17 and ultimately starred in more than 25 soap operas.
She was also involved with movies and theater.
She last starred in “Harina De Otro Costal,” an adaption of “Romeo and Juliet,” in 2010 as Camencita.
