Man Crossing Street in Anaheim Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver

ANAHEIM (CNS)—A man in a security guard uniform was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver in Anaheim Jan.6 and the driver was in custody, authorities said.

Anaheim police responded to the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue at about 1:15 a.m., where officers found the victim down in a marked crosswalk and the suspect’s vehicle, a white Astro van, a short distance away crashed head-on into a palm tree.

The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The age and name of the victim, as well as where he worked, were not immediately available.

The intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue, except for the westbound lanes of Katella Avenue, was closed until further notice.
