As a parent of a toddler, it’s always tough to tell just what your little one will do when they see something exciting.
Just ask Pensacola mom and military wife Stephanie Anthony, whose 1-year-old tot Boone decided that the prospect of helping a street brass band make some sweet, sweet music was just too much to pass up!
Anthony shared a video on Facebook when she and her son were out walking at Jackson Square during a family trip to New Orleans.
They came across a brass band playing in the street, and Anthony decided that they would stop and listen for a bit. She was delighted that the music was providing some fun, outdoors entertainment for her and her son, but little Boone wasn’t content to just listen—before she knew what was happening, he'd run up to join in the fun!
“Our little 1 year old baby boy went out there and ‘performed’ with an outstanding band in front of a huge crowd on Jackson Square,” Anthony wrote with the video.
“Boone received so many smiles and cheers from so many folks; it was the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen. Go to Where Ya At Brass Band page and show these guys some love, they deserve it! You can book them for any occasion! So glad we were able to find out who they are.”
Sure enough, Boone dashed over and started mimicking the movements of the musicians, who were all too happy to let the tot in on the fun. One of the musicians even got down to eye level with the delighted young, budding performer, showing him how he was playing so that little Boone could do his best impression of the performance.
The entire video lasts less than a minute, but it’s clear that the fun likely carried over and kept the kiddo in good spirits for the rest of the day. That kind of excitement is something that a kid, even one as young as this one, doesn’t forget any time soon!
Of course, Boone isn’t the only one who enjoyed the up-close encounter; with almost 150,000 shares of the video since Anthony first posted it—and over 9,000 comments expressing delight at the clearly fun time—it’s apparent that the internet got as much of a kick out of the impromptu guest performer as Boone did himself.
