When these rare albino twin sisters were born in Argentina, the whole world took notice. Just imagine how surprised the parents would have been; the couple knew they were expecting twins but were unaware that their babies would be two little Snow White princesses.

Twins Virginia and Catalina were born in Tucumán Province, northern Argentina. The little ones became an overnight sensation, as they were the first set of albino twins to be born in the country.

The twins were prematurely born at 36 weeks, and took the parents and the hospital staff by surprise.

Catalina was born first weighing 5.95 pounds (approx. 2.6 kg), while Virginia was born two minutes later weighing 5.5 pounds (approx. 2.4 kg).

“When they gave us the news that we would have two babies, it gave us a lot of happiness and when they were born and we saw that they were albinos, that happiness did not change at all,” Jorge Gomez, the father, told LV12.

“For us it is a blessing,” he added.

Albinism is a rare pigment disorder in which the skin and hair have no coloring due to the lack of melanin. According to the National Organization of Albinism and Hypopigmentation, one in 17,000 people in the United States has albinism.

However, the chances of having albino twins is thought to be extremely rare.

These adorable twins will need special care as they grow, as their skin and eyes will be very sensitive to the UV rays from the sun. But they have their older brother, 9, by their side and their parents to provide them with all the loving care they need.

We wish these little sweethearts all the very best—may they keep inspiring the world in every positive way possible!
