These dogs have been recognized as heroes! What they did is one shining example, showing that in today’s world when one person doesn’t hesitate to abandon a newborn, an “animal” doesn’t think twice to save the precious life.
Pui is a 6-year-old Thai Bangkaew dog who saved the life of a newborn baby back in 2013. He was wandering around near a roadside garbage dump in Ayutthaya, Thailand, when he came across a “strange” plastic bag.

The dog somehow figured out that a newborn baby was packed inside the bag. This amazing pet then went ahead to “pick” up the bag in his mouth to carry it home.
He placed it down and barked to alert the household. At first, they ignored the barking, but finally, Sudarat Thongmak, 12 years old at the time, came out to see what was the matter and rushed to get her family when she saw the plastic bag contained a baby.
They quickly took the newborn premature girl, who still had an umbilical cord attached, to the hospital, where doctors treated the 4.5-pound (2-kilogram) baby.
“It′s lucky that Little Pui found the baby. It was a surprise to us, since little Pui never brought anything home, only barking at strangers when he’s out and about,” said Sudarat’s mother, Poomrat Thongmak, according to Thailand’s Khaosod newspaper.
“Must be destiny that brought us together,” she added, expressing a wish to adopt the baby. Several other families also expressed their interest in adopting the baby.
Pui was awarded a medal by the Red Cross and a brand-new collar for his heroic deed. The Miracle of Life Foundation also contributed $260 for food to feed the families’ three dogs.
Ping Pong is another heroic dog from the Ban Nong Kham village of tambon Tha Lad, Korat, northeastern Thailand, that has helped save the life of a tiny infant on May 15, 2019, who was buried by her 15-year-old mother.
Despite living without one leg after being hit by a car, Ping Pong remains a loyal servant. He always helps out his owner when he goes into the fields to tend to his cattle. And on that fateful day, Ping Pong sniffed out something alive buried under the ground alongside a farmer’s cassava field.
Ping Pong then scratched on the soil, apparently trying to dig out the living thing.
Owner Usa Nisaika was herding his cow when he heard Ping Pong’s barking. He went to investigate, and shockingly, he spotted a leg poking out from the soil. He frantically dug out the living thing, which turned out to be a newborn baby boy!
Thankfully, the 5.2-pound (approx. 2.4-kilogram) baby was rescued in the nick of time by Ping Pong and Nisaika. The tiny infant was rushed to Chum Phuang Hospital and was deemed healthy by doctors.
These wonderful canines have saved a little human life, and it’s possible they may not be all that aware of the significance of their action. But then again, this is the beauty of a being’s innate, kind nature, which is true goodness. May we all cherish these virtues forever.
