Kyle Connor completed his hat trick with 54 seconds remaining and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the visiting Anaheim Ducks 3–2 on Thursday night, Nov. 17.

Connor, who entered the game with two goals on the season, scored the game-winner with a one-timer from the slot off a pass from Mark Scheifele behind the goal line with 54 seconds to play.

Scheifele had two assists for the Jets, who are 8–1–1 in their past 10 games. Connor Hellebuyck made 29 saves as Winnipeg won its fifth straight at home.

Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras scored for the Ducks, who were looking for their second two-game winning streak of the season. John Gibson made 29 saves.

Connor gave the Jets a 2–1 lead at 14:15 of the third period. Sam Gagner, behind the net, received a pass from Scheifele in the right corner and then backhanded a pass to Connor, who closed from the right circle to score from the slot.

Zegras tied it 28 seconds later when he worked a give and go with Adam Henrique on the rush and scored over Hellebuyck’s shoulder from the bottom of the left circle at 14:43.

Zegras has eight goals on the season and four points (one goal, three assists) in his past three games.

Terry gave the Ducks a 1–0 lead on a delayed penalty at 10:17 of the first period. With the extra attacker on, the Ducks worked the puck around the Jets zone. Terry took a pass at the point from Cam Fowler, skated to the top of the left circle and scored on a wrist shot through traffic in front of Hellebuyck.

Connor tied it 1–1 with a power-play goal at 12:32 of the second period when he got to the rebound of Pierre-Luc Dubois’ shot and scored from a sharp angle.

Hellebuyck made a save on Isac Lundestrom on a 2-on-1 rush midway through the third period to maintain the tie.
