Kendrick Johnson death pictures show a complicated case, which is after many months being probed by a United States attorney.

A new surveillance video was released this week, amid U.S. Attorney Michael Moore, a federal prosecutor, saying that he would formally review the evidence.

The FBI would conduct a criminal civil rights investigation into the case if Moore finds sufficient evidence.

“I will follow the facts wherever they lead. My objective is to discover the truth,” Moore said, reported AP.

The case has caught people’s attention because of the suspicious nature of it.

Johnson, a high school student in Macon, was found dead inside a rolled up gym mat. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation found in its investigation that the death happened after Johnson suffocated by hanging in the mat upside down overnight after trying to grab a shoe. But Johnson’s parents didn’t believe that explanation, and an autopsy they commissioned found the death to be from “non-accidental blunt force trauma.”

A 15 minute video and nearly 700 photos taken by investigators in Lowndes County, Georgia were released earlier this month, and showed the suspicious nature of the crime scene.

Investigators left some potential evidence at the gym, including one hoe and a hooded sweatshirt.

Harold Copus, an Atlanta private investigator and a former FBI agent, says he’s not sure how the crime scene was handled.

“If you’re running a crime scene, then you’re going to say ‘That’s potential evidence. Obviously, we’re going to check this out and find out who does it belong to,’ ” he said.

“I don’t believe this was an accident. I think this young man met with foul play.”

In another bizarre twist, it was discovered that organs were missing from Johnson’s body.
