Kate Dillon, 35, the famous plus-size model, gave birth to a baby boy on Dec. 21 in New York City.

The baby, named Lucas Dillon Levin, weighs 8 lbs. He is the first child of the model and her husband Gabe Levin, a real estate investor.

The couple will have their second anniversary on Dec. 28, according to People magazine.

Dillon started her career as a fashion model when she was only 16. After a long struggle to maintain an underweight size 6, she gave up her career at age 20.

After two years, Dillon returned to the industry as a plus-sized model. Since then, she has modeled for frontline fashion companies like Chanel, Christian Dior, Elisabeth, and Gucci. Dillon has been featured in Vogue multiple times and was the first plus-sized model to appear in Vogue. She was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 2000.

Dillon is also an advocate for children. After finishing grad school at Harvard three years ago, Dillon started funding an organization to help girls in African countries continue with secondary education, according to an interview with Models.com.
