Singer-turned-designer Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson welcomed their third child, daughter Birdie Mae, on March 19.

The couple made the announcement on social media with a photo of the newborn, who weighed in at 10 pounds and 13 ounces on March 20. They said, “We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.19.19.”

Simpson, 38, and former NFL player Johnson, 39, are also parents to 6-year-old daughter Maxwell “Maxi” Drew and 5-year-old son Ace Knute.

The couple first revealed they were expecting their third child in September last year. The 38-year-old posted an image of their children preparing to pop two large balloons to discover the gender of their sibling. She then posted a photo of her children surrounded by smaller pink balloons to reveal that they were expecting a baby girl.

“This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life,” she wrote at the time.

In October last year, Simpson told PEOPLE magazine that her two older children are curious about their younger sibling.

“The questions I get on the daily from Maxwell and Ace are hilarious,” Simpson said. “They want to know every detail—like how milk comes out of Mommy, how the baby will actually get here and if my belly button is a speaker to communicate with the baby.”

She added that she and her husband “are constantly cracking up and trying to figure out how to be honest” while not traumatizing them or their friends, or teachers.

The mother-of-three threw a baby shower in January in honor of her daughter, while revealing her name. She posted several photos while posing with family members on Instagram captioning them “Birdie’s nest.”

According to PEOPLE magazine, Simpson had been going through various health problems during her pregnancy including severe pregnancy acid reflux, sciatica pain, bronchitis, and an extremely swollen foot, which she chronicled on social media.

She shared a photo of some of the remedies she went through to help with the symptoms of swelling.
