A report claiming that Jenni Rivera is still alive after faking her own death, and that she will now spend 15 years in prison, is a hoax.

Rivera died on December 9, 2012, and some conspiracy theories about the death have been circulating ever since.

The new report, from a website called Notaelpais, has stoked those sentiments about “La Diva de La Banda.”

The report claims that a court found Rivera guilty of conspiracy, money laundering, and fraud, among other charges, and sentenced her to jail.

The report also claimed that Rivera and her attorneys argued that she faked her death for reasons of personal safety, but that the jury didn’t find that argument satisfactory.

“The judgment was made based on the evidence presented by the prosecution in the trial of the case. It was a relatively speedy trial because the evidence was overwhelming and the defense did not request any postponement,” it said.

The report is completely false, though, and Rivera is dead.

The Rivera family has been victim of these fake news reports recently, with Jenni’s brother Lupillo Rivera being called dead last month.

The websites typically use photoshopped Telemundo, Univision, or CNN logos to try to add to their credibility and get people to share the stories.

The Rivera article has been shared over 200,000 times, with many people believing that Rivera is still alive.

After the Lupillo death hoax, mother Dona Rosa took to Twitter to condemn the fake news reports, while Lupillo posted a video on Facebook confirming that he was still alive.
