SYDNEY, Australia—Adrian Munn, a professional cameraman who works with Channel 9, attended Shen Yun with his wife, Nailia Munn, an accountant, at the Sydney Lyric Theatre on April 29.
“It’s breathtaking … I’ve never seen anything as good in my life,” said Mr. Munn.
“A lot of the dances are very emotional,” he said. “[T]hey tell a lovely story.”
Mr. Munn was particularly moved by this season’s dance story called, “Riding Alone to the Rescue,” where a young mother must make a life changing decision during the war-torn Three Kingdoms era.
“I thought that was very, very good … very emotional,” he said.
As a news cameraman, Mr. Munn said he was impressed with the coordination between the dancers, orchestra, and animation in the backdrop.
“I think some of the graphics that they’re using in the show is amazing … I’m enjoying that,” he said.
One of Shen Yun’s unique features is its orchestra. It’s the first in the world to permanently combine classical Western and Chinese instruments within a Western symphony orchestra.
“It’s fantastic … very exciting,” said Mrs. Munn. “[W]e still need to know cultural things, every nationality, and I think it’s good that we can share this kind of experience and cultural background.”
