Homemade Fresh Fig Jam Recipe

The jam recipe is vegan, vegetarian and egg free.

Ingredients:

  • 7 pints fresh figs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1/4 cup Tuaca
  • 1/4 cup cognac

Steps/Methods:

Add all ingredients together except the cognac in a 6 qt stockpot and bring to a boil. Then turn down temperature to low and add the cognac then stir the mixture for a minute. Cook figs on low heat for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the figs are broken down and mashed into a paste. You can keep this mixture for up to a week in the fridge or 2 months in the freezer.

Put on toast, ice cream, cake, cookies and more!
