A village house in Hong Kong caught fire on Oct. 24. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found 13 cats and 1 dog, all asphyxiated and were confirmed dead despite efforts to resuscitate them.
The police said in a report on Oct. 25 that a fire broke out on the ground floor of a village house in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. Firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire, rescuing 13 cats and 1 dog. All of the animals were in a coma. First-aid treatments were given to the pets by more than 10 firefighters and first-aiders. Unfortunately, they were confirmed dead despite efforts.
After a preliminary investigation by the Hong Kong Fire Department spokesperson said, it is believed that the electrical extension board connected to the extractor fan of the animal cage caught fire suddenly. He also said that the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
No evacuation was needed during the fire accident.
The bodies of the animal have been handed over to the owner of the flat where it caught fire.
