Celebrity chef and TV star Guy Fieri made a surprise visit to serve dinner to law enforcement and firefighters battling California wildfires.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office in Northern California, where the Camp Fire has ravaged the county, posted a photo of Fieri on social media.
“Guy Fieri made a surprise visit to serve dinner to everyone at the law enforcement staging area at Butte College. Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits,” the office tweeted on Nov. 11.
The Auburn Police department also posted a photo of the chef. “Guy is cooking pulled pork dinner for everyone this evening,“ the department said. ”He had also thanked everyone that is helping out for their hard work! Thank you Guy for your time, support and great food!”
The Sacramento Police department also posted a photo as well and said, “Our own Tactical Dispatcher Badilla at the #Campfire command post, taking a break for a quick photo with Guy Fieri who showed up & fed the troops some outstanding food!”
“Thank you so much for your support and kindness,” the police department wrote.
Fieri’s followers commended him for the move. “As if I needed anymore reason to love ya! @GuyFieri this police officer is one of my closest friends. He is with Grass Valley Police Department & is helping with the #campfire. Thank you for supporting our first responders, it is so appreciated,” wrote one person on Twitter.
Officials say the Camp Fire totally destroyed the city of Paradise, and the fire has grown to 125,000 acres.
