Germaine Lindsay’s widow--known as the “White Widow”--has been pegged by some as the mastermind behind the terror attack at Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
The attack has left at least 68 dead and over 175 wounded.
Lindsay died in 2005, one of four Islamist terrorists that set off bombs in the London subway system. They killed 56 people, including themselves, and injured more than 700 others.
Samantha Lewthwaite has been connected to multiple terror attacks, including a plot to attack tourist hotels in Mombasa--Kenya’s second-largest city--in late 2012.
Witnesses told Kenyan blogger Robert Alai that the “ringleader” of the Westgate mall attack “is a lady with a British accent.”
The best known match for that description would be Lewthwaite, who entered Africa several years ago and is suspected to have been living in Somalia and to be involved with al-Shabab, the group that has claimed responsibility for the Westgate attack.
