TAIPEI, Taiwan—Former head of Changhua County and the chairman of the Central Election Commission, and present chairman of Taiwan Heritage Foundation, Mr. Huang Shicheng, saw the performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company at Dr. Sun Yat-sun Memorial Hall in Taipei on March 21.
The third performance in Taipei was another full-house. Amid the enthusiastic audience, Mr. Huang praised the choreography, the special effects of the dynamic backdrop, the dazzling costumes, and said the standard of the dance artists was very high. He believed that Shen Yun Performing Arts has significant meaning for carrying forward the Chinese culture and enhancing the morality of mankind as it tours the world. “I think Shen Yun has significant contribution to mankind.” he said.
Seeing Shen Yun for the second time, Mr. Huang said that every program was great. “They all had a human touch. As the exquisite performance is of world-class quality, it of course impresses the audience deeply.” Mr. Huang was deeply touched by Shen Yun’s mission: the revival of 5,000 years of Chinese culture and promotes it around the world. “It is a full-house today. Everyone was stunned by the performance. People in the audience yelled, ‘It’s great!’” he said.
Mr. Huang stressed that it is distinguished and meaningful that Shen Yun can represent the Chinese culture on stage and carry forward the 5,000 years of the Chinese traditional culture. “Shen Yun Performing Arts is actually speaking up for the Chinese culture. It awakens human nature through the Chinese culture and rebuilds the values of our traditional ethical morality.”
Mr. Huang was born into a poor farming family. He loved watching the Taiwanese opera as a young boy and was deeply influenced by the traditional stories of filial piety and righteousness. He has held many public positions such as the head of Changhua County, commissioner of the Executive Yuan, national policy advisor, and chairman of the Central Election Commission.
