Singh Sabha Sports Club-A (SSSC-A) players and officials left King’s Park with bitter disappointment etched on their faces after crashing to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Khalsa-A last Sunday Jan 31, 2016.
SSSC-A goalkeeper Gurdev Singh was crowned ‘man-of-the-match’ for his brilliant performance between the post but his acrobatic skills still failed to halt Khalsa-A from leaving Happy Valley with the 49th edition of the Guru Nanak Cup after they edged out their rivals 2-1 last Sunday Dec 13, 2015.
HONG KONG—The Hong Kong Hockey Association Premier Division 2014-2015 matches finished on Sunday Feb 8 with another thrilling encounter between the two clubs leading the division Khlasa-A and SSSC-A, after Punjab-A had points deducted for an infringement of the bye-laws.
HONG KONG—Khalsa-A won their match with Punjab-A last Sunday Dec. 14 to move into second place in the Hong Kong Hockey Association Premier Division standings and just 1-point behind leaders SSSC-A. Punjab-A have now dropped to 3rd place and are 3-points below the leaders at the half way stage of the HKFA Premier Division season.
Hong Kong—The annual Guru Nanak Hockey Tournament, a nine aside, 10 minutes each way event with round-robin matches leading to Semi-finals and Finals was held at Happy Valley on Sunday Nov. 30. The Khalsa Diwan (Sikh Temple) organises the event, provides the prizes for winners, officials and supporters and arranges refreshments for the participants and onlookers during the tournament.
Singh Sabha Sports Club-B (SSSC-B), the number two string team for the club will fly off to Malaysia this weekend (Oct 11 and 12) for non-stop hockey as they compete for honors in a 9-a-side tournament in Kuala Lumpur.
