Oil and gas company BP has sold its global petrochemicals business to Ineos for $5 billion, for its plan to shift activities to renewable sources of energy.

The U.S. on Jan. 23 said it had sanctioned several companies that traded hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Iranian petroleum and petrochemicals.
