When veteran paddler Mark Oldershaw carries Canada’s flag into the opening ceremonies of the Pan American Games, he'll be thinking about his grandfather.
Hudson’s Bay Co. was inspired by the 50-year anniversary of the Canadian flag with the Maple Leaf used as a starting point for the graphics throughout its Pan Am Games line.
The torch relay for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games will be a national event, with stops in five Canadian cities as well as more than 100 Ontario communities.
Organizers say the torch will be carried by 3,000 people during its 41-day journey to the Games, and Canadians aged 13 and up can enter for a chance to be one of them.
