OnePlus had a difficult twelve months in 2014 - from enduring the backlash of its sexist photo contest, or having a shipment delayed after it redesigned a required regulatory mark, to admitting its own design failures when it announced that it was cancelling its promised swappable rear covers.

OnePlus has had its ups and downs throughout 2014, but as we reach the end of the year, the company still has high hopes for the intriguing OnePlus One. The Android smartphone was initially available only to consumers who managed to secure an invite, but OnePlus opened sales to the public for a limited time during a special preorder promotion last week.
