Following the magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Napa, California on Sunday, people in the rest of the state are looking at whether buildings are properly equipped if a bigger one strikes.
Winemakers in California’s renowned Napa Valley have spent the past two days cleaning up thousands of broken bottles and assessing the damage from Sunday magnitude-6.0 earthquake. The region’s worst quake in 25 years caused damage to homes, businesses, and roads, but damage to the region’s wine industry is coming into view more slowly.
For some it was mild shaking for some it was severe, and others slept right through it. But, the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred Sunday morning at 3:20 a.m. was the strongest since the 1989 Loma Prieta which killed 63 and caused significant damage, including the collapse of a section of the former Bay Bridge.
