Human Rights Council

In June, the People’s Republic of China submitted its candidature to once again be a part of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations, but human rights activists don’t think it’s a good idea in light of conditions in the country.

India, including twenty five other countries, voted against Sri Lanka on Thursday at the U.N. Human Rights Council session in Geneva. The Indian government didn’t move any amendments, contrary to the announcements made on Wednesday.
