On Saturday afternoon, in cold and chilly conditions at Sandy Bay Sports Ground, on the south side of Hong Kong Island, Societe Generale Valley sealed the Hong Kong Premiership league title, their first since the 2009/2010 season, by outplaying and outscoring close rivals, Leighton Asia Hong Kong Cricket Club, 45-10.

The Hong Kong Premiership began after the Christmas hiatus. The most interesting match-of-the-day was at the Hong Kong Football Club: Natixis Hong Kong Football Club against Leighton Asia Hong Kong Cricket Club.

Societe Generale Valley conquered The Rock on Saturday, by beating Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish at their home ground in Shek Kip Mei, commonly known as The Rock. The score, a convincing 30-15 victory, which preserved Valleys unbeaten start to the season, and consolidated an almost unassailable lead in the Hong Kong Men’s Premiership.

Three close matches were seen in the Hong Kong Rugby Premiership last Saturday. Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers and Society Generale Valley notched up a hard fought wins, while Natixis HKFC picked up their second win of the season at Aberdeen.

HONG KONG—Societe Generale Valley defeated Leighton Asia HKCC 18-15, to win and defend the Grand Championship final at Kings Park on Saturday March 7. It was an entertaining, close fought match, with both sides providing rugby that was an excellent advert for the game in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Rugby Football Union domestic league season 2014-2015 draws to a close this coming Saturday March 7 with Grand Championship finals for each division. The top 4-teams heading the leagues have played knock out semi-finals between the top team and 4th team, and the 2nd and 3rd placed teams resulting in a line-up of finals matches to be played this Saturday.

HONG KONG—Leighton Asia Hong Kong Cricket Club (HKCC) and Societe Generale Valley (Valley) won their respective semi-final matches in the Grand Championship play-off of the HKRFU Premiership on Saturday Feb 14, 2015 to move them into the final to be played on Finals Day at King’s park on Saturday March 7, 2015.

HONG KONG—Leighton HKCC held off Societe Generale Valley 12-7 to seal the HKRFU Premiership league and snatch the Broony Quaich from Valley’s grasp. Bloomberg HK Scottish also won (27-15) against NATIXIS HKFC to secure their second place position.

HONG KONG—The top three clubs in the Hong Kong RFU Premiership all secured high scoring bonus point wins last weekend (Saturday Jan 24). Leaders Leighton Asia overcame bottom club Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers 35-10, second placed Bloomberg HK Scottish scored a 44-6 victory over Abacus Kowloon and Societe Generale Valley outgunned NATIXIS HKFC 30-5.

In Round 12 of the Hong Kong Rugby Union Premiership last Saturday Jan 17, Leighton Asia HKCC continued their unrelenting drive for the Premiership 2015 Title with a 43-5 win over Abacus Kowloon to take them onto 47-points. Second placed Bloomberg HK Scottish found a fired up Societe Generale Valley too hot to handle losing 42-12 and the Broony Quaich trophy leaving them 7-points adrift of the leaders and only 2-points ahead of Valley.
