The Icarian Sea, located within the Mediterranean, is named after Icarus, who according to Greek Mythology fell into the sea after he flew too close to the sun and his wings of wax, fashioned by his father for their escape from the island of Knossos, melted. Icarus is synonymous with over-confidence and recklessness, but occasionally his story will be referenced for something more literal.

DARPA, the research branch of the Department of Defense, awarded a $32 million contract to the Broad Institute at MIT this week to research genetic engineering with “medical, industrial, and agricultural applications” that are too expensive for private industries.

The current Internet sees only 4 percent of the real Internet. The new Internet will see the other 96 percent.

The Internet as we know it may soon be changed forever by a project the Pentagon is developing behind closed doors and with little mention.
