The mother of a San Diego resident, Ms. Joanna Wang, was recently kept in detention and forced to take a brainwashing class in China’s Hefei City, Anhui Province.
On the evening of July 19, 2008, 200 Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil behind Beijing’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong. A suspicious man, who has been present at every Falun Gong activity in Hong Kong, was identified as a communist spy and quickly ran away.
Chen Yumei, a 48-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested and beaten on the morning of July 4, 2008, by police from the Changan police station, Shenyang City. Later that same evening she died in the hospital, due to severe injuries to the brain.
