Wall Street bonuses rose by 8 percent to $20 billion in 2012 after having declined in 2011. The average bonus for someone employed in the New York securities industry is $121,890, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced Feb. 26.
Deutsche Bank is trying to get bonus money back, the amount of which media speculates to be around 80 million euros. The bonus recipient has already kept around 40 million euros, and the bank might resort to legal means to get it back.
