The bill only allows parents to, upon request, access the names and performance data of their children’s teachers. Everyone else will just get the performance data and the school’s name.

It appears fewer than 50 percent of the teachers at the city’s 33 most struggling schools would be replaced.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced his plan to get ineffective teachers out of the city’s classrooms in his State of the City address earlier this month, but noted that they will remain in the school system for years to come.
