If Boeing successfully completes tests on a redesigned battery system, the FAA will allow commercial flights of the Dreamliner again.

The Boeing Company had to ground its fleet of 787 Dreamliner aircraft Jan. 16 after the Federal Aviation Administration issued an emergency airworthiness directive. It was issued after a 787 flight in Japan had to undergo an emergency landing due to a smoldering lithium-ion battery in the cabin.
