CBS hosts were shocked that they couldn’t find a single supporter of Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist in areas President Joe Biden reportedly won in 2020.

Crist is running against popular Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Sunshine State, a previously purple state that many predict is about to turn deep red.

“CBS This Morning” co-host Tony Dokoupil said he shared meals with voters up and down Florida’s coast in areas he said voted for Biden in 2020. To his shock, Floridians in those areas praised DeSantis as a “beast” who “doesn’t BS around.” Dokoupil was eventually forced to admit he couldn’t find any Crist supporters during this trip.

Aly Legge, a parent in Tampa, said “that’s great news!”

“That means nobody wants someone in office who flip flops all the time,” Legge told The Epoch Times. “Parents have spoken with this election. They know Governor DeSantis has their back. The people of Florida are very smart and they know they need to keep DeSantis.”

“We like freedom not recycled career politicians who stand for nothing other than personal gain,” Tim Sharp told The Epoch Times. “Charlie Crist stands for nothing. Charlie Crist just flip-flops. He doesn’t stand for anything but himself.”

Crist was elected as Florida’s forty-fourth governor on Nov. 7, 2006. After one term, Crist challenged Marco Rubio for a seat in the Florida State Senate. When his campaign floundered, he switched to independent. Rubio still defeated him. In 2014, Crist attempted an unsuccessful effort to regain the governor’s mansion as a Democrat against Republican candidate Rick Scott. In 2016, Crist won election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Florida’s 13th Congressional District covering the St. Petersburg–Clearwater area. However, due to redistricting, Crist decided to resign his Florida’s Congress to make another run for governor.

“They may have to dig a bit deeper to find a Crist or Biden supporter in Florida,” St. John’s resident Charles Bowman told The Epoch Times. “Try the local cemeteries, perhaps?”

Hernando County mom Krysia Bailey had only one question. “When gas prices are so high, why is Crist focusing on abortion?”

Quisha King of Duval County has traveled all over Florida. She has seen no support for Crist. “I saw one billboard, one time.”

Sabrina Artiles, a mom from Broward County, Florida, finds the news to be “funny.”

“I think it speaks for itself,” Artiles told The Epoch Times. “I think Floridians clearly want freedom and he obviously doesn’t represent that. His policies are very socialist and his running mate is a socialist. People are awake now. They see through the nonsense. It’s funny. It’s reassuring.”
