FBI Warns of Potential for More Suspicious Parcels

Unidentified people have apparently been sending suspicious packages to prominent Democrats and Democratic Supporters, and according to the FBI, there may be more such packages already in the mail.

A number of suspicious packages were mailed to addresses in New York, Washington, D.C., California, Delaware, and Florida. All of them were mailed to prominent members of Democratic administrations or supporters of Democratic Party causes.

The packages were delivered by the Post Office between Oct. 22 and Oct. 25.

In an Oct. 24 press release, the FBI has warned people that there may be more packages yet to be delivered, and not to touch any suspicious parcels.

“This investigation is of the highest priority for the FBI. We have committed the full strength of the FBI’s resources and, together with our partners on our Joint Terrorism Task Forces, we will continue to work to identify and arrest whoever is responsible for sending these packages,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray in the statement.

“We ask anyone who may have information to contact the FBI. Do not hesitate to call; no piece of information is too small to help us in this investigation.”

More Could Be on the Way

The FBI statement concludes with this warning:

“It is possible that additional packages were mailed to other locations. The FBI advises the public to remain vigilant and not touch, move or handle any suspicious or unknown packages.”

“If you have information about these packages, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or tips.fbi.gov.

“If you observe any suspicious activity that requires an immediate response, please call 911 or contact your local law enforcement.”

Pipe Bombs?

While the FBI has not specified the contents of the packages, several news agencies have reported that the parcels contained pipe bombs.

The FBI reports that packages have been mailed to President Barack Obama, ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Obama-administration Attorney general Eric Holder, Obama-administration CIA Director John Brennan, and political financier George Soros.

Secret Service details intercepted the packages sent to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

A package was sent to the home of Bill and Hillary Clinton in Chappaqua, New York.

The package addressed to John Brennan was mailed to CNN in the Time Warner building in New York City.

The package sent to George Soros was returned by the post office to its return address, former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman and Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (the name was spelled wrong on the package.)

Numerous Packages

Two packages addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden have also been intercepted, one at a postal facility in Newcastle Delaware, and another at a postal distribution center in Wilmington, Delaware, NBC News reported.
Two packages similar to the others were sent to California Representative Maxine Waters.

One was intercepted at a congressional mail facility in Maryland. The other was reported to the police by workers at the Los Angeles Central Mail facility.
