Futoshiki

Futoshiki Online

Futoshiki is a logic puzzle with a similar grid-based layout to Sudoku. The goal is to fill the grid with digits so that each row and column contains all the numbers (usually 1 to 5 for a standard 5x5 puzzle) without repetition. This puzzle can also be known as "More or Less" due to the inequality symbols used in the game. However, Futoshiki adds an extra challenge: inequality symbols (greater than or less than) are placed between some cells, indicating that one number must be larger than the other. This unique feature is what sets it apart from other logic puzzles like Sudoku.

How To Play Futoshiki

Begin by looking at the pre-filled numbers and inequality symbols on the Futoshiki grid. Remember, some puzzles may begin with more or fewer starting numbers to adjust the difficulty level. Use the symbols to deduce which numbers are higher or lower than their neighbors. Follow the same row and column rules as Sudoku (no repetitions allowed). Be patient and methodical as you work through the puzzle, as a single mistake can make finding the solution impossible. Combine the inequality clues with the row and column restrictions to progressively fill in the grid until you reach the complete solution.
