Actress Mya-Lecia Naylor Dies at Age 16 After Collapsing, Says Report

Mya-Lecia Naylor, who appeared in “Cloud Atlas” and popular children’s programs, died at the age of 16, her agents confirmed. She was 16.

The firm that represented her, A&J Management, said the young British actress died April 7 after she collapsed, the BBC reported.

The BBC didn’t provide any other details about her death, including the cause.

“Mya-Lecia was hugely talented and a big part of A&J, we will miss her greatly. Our love and thoughts are with all her family and friends at this difficult time,” A&J Management said, reported Deadline Hollywood, which reported that she was to appear in the Netflix show, “The Witcher.”

Naylor also appeared on CBBC shows such as “Millie Inbetween” and “Almost Never.”

In a statement on Instagram, the CBBC said, “We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia Naylor, who you will know from ‘Millie Inbetween’ and ‘Almost Never,’ has very sadly died.”

“We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends. If you would like to post a tribute to Mya-Lecia you can leave a message on the CBBC website,” the statement reads.

The post continued: “We know this news is very upsetting, and it may help to share how you are feeling with a friend or an adult you trust. If you are struggling and there is no one you feel you can talk to about it, you can always call Childline on 0800 11 11.”

Alice Webb, the head of the BBC Children’s, which includes CBBC, said she was left “distraught and so terribly sad” after Naylor’s death.

“She has shone so brightly on our screens, both in ‘Millie Inbetween’ and ‘Almost Never,’ and it’s unthinkable that she won’t be part of our journey going forward,” she told the BBC.

The young actress, she said, was “a real role model for her young fans.”

Millie Innes, the star of “Millie Inbetween,” posted a tribute to the actress on Instagram.

“I will always cherish our relationship and the moments we spend together beautiful girl,” she wrote before adding: “I am devastated and heartbroken,” according to the BBC.

“Almost Never” creator Paul Rose also issued a statement, saying, “Found out the heartbreaking news last week that Mya-Lecia Naylor has died. I'd been writing scripts for S2 of Almost Never since last year, all featuring Mya’s character. Far too young, and a huge loss for all on the show. My heart goes out to her family.

“Game of Thrones” star Nathalie Emmanuel, who had the same a management company, said, “Very sad to hear the tragic news of Mya-Lecia Naylor’s passing… I wanted to send my condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time,” according to Deadline Hollywood.
