Kailia Posey, former star of the reality TV show, “Toddlers & Tiaras,” died in recent days, according to her mother who made the announcement on social media.

“I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever,” Marcy Posey Gatterman, her mother, wrote on Facebook late Monday as she shared a photo of her daughter wearing a gown.
The teen had appeared on TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras” in 2012 when she was around 5 years old. Posey had continued to compete in beauty pageants after appearing on the show, and in January, she announced that she would compete in the Miss Washington Teen USA in February in an Instagram post.

In February, she made an Instagram post showing her wearing a “Miss Lynden” sash with the caption, “One word. Thankful.”

Hours before confirming Posey’s death, Gatterman wrote online that her daughter was supposed to be “graduating next month.”

“Toddlers & Tiaras,” which drew some controversy when it aired, ran for seven seasons before ending in 2013. It followed families as their young children appeared in beauty pageants.

Posey’s cause of death was not disclosed. Other circumstances surrounding her death were also not revealed.

The Whatcom County Medical Examiner’s office in Washington state confirmed to the New York Post’s Page Six that its office is investigating Posey’s death. Meanwhile, TLC has not issued a public comment about the incident.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Posey is survived by her parents and two brothers.
