Ted McGinley, the veteran actor known for his role in “Married… With Children,” recently shared about one of his “largest faults” in life.
“One of my largest faults in life—and I have so many—is that I just keep moving on,” Mr. McGinley said when asked about whether he had stayed in touch with his former co-stars.
He expressed fondness for them, saying that while he may not actively maintain contact, chance encounters often spark warm reunions. “If Ed O'Neill and I were to run into each other having coffee early in the morning, we would have an amazing time,” he reminisced.
The interview with Fox discussed Mr. McGinley’s forthcoming appearance in the new television series “The Baxters.”
Transitioning from the comedic realm of “Married… With Children” to the faith-based narrative of “The Baxters” represents a notable shift for Mr. McGinley. Embracing the opportunity to explore diverse roles across genres, he expressed enthusiasm for the challenges and rewards in the transition.
“It’s fun when I get to work on something like ‘The Baxters’ because I think it’s important. That audience is really hungry for good content,” Mr. McGinley said.

Drawing parallels between himself and his character, John Baxter, Mr. McGinley emphasized shared values of family and faith, acknowledging the weight of portraying a beloved literary figure.
“It’s also a real honor to get to play. It’s also scary,” he admitted, reflecting on the responsibility of embodying a character deeply ingrained in the hearts of readers.
Mr. McGinley expressed admiration for Roma Downey, the executive producer for the TV series, praising her warmth and generosity.
“When you work with her, it feels like this beautiful, comforting warmth,” he mused.
“Roma Downey has described [The Baxters] as a ‘hope opera.’ So, it is a soap opera. But I would say give it a chance,” he said, emphasizing the depth and emotional resonance of the storyline.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. McGinley shared insights into his personal life, highlighting the enduring friendship he and his wife, Gigi Rice, have cultivated with Ms. Downey and her husband, Mark Burnett.
