Sylvester Stallone has officially bid farewell to California, opting for Florida as his new permanent residence. Confirming the move, Mr. Stallone declared, “It’s settled.” The iconic “Rocky” actor invested in a lavish $35 million mansion located in Palm Beach back in 2021.
In a momentous declaration during the season two premiere of the reality series “The Family Stallone,” Mr. Stallone revealed his family’s decision to bid farewell to California permanently. Addressing his three daughters, Scarlet (21), Sistine (25), and Sophia (27), alongside his wife of 26 years, Jennifer Flavin, Mr. Stallone affirmed, “After long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided, time to move on and leave the state of California permanently, and we’re going to go to Florida.” He further emphasized, “We’re gonna sell this house. We already have the place, it’s a done deal.”
The Palm Beach Daily News reported that Mr. Stallone had acquired a sprawling $35.4 million residence in Palm Beach back in 2021. Situated on approximately 1.5 lakefront acres, the property boasts over 250 feet of beachfront along with a dock. The living space encompasses a main house, a guest house, and a pool pavilion adjacent to the keyhole-shaped pool in the backyard, totaling over 13,000 square feet. With seven bedrooms and 12 baths spread between the main and guest accommodations, the property offers ample luxury living space.
Jennifer Flavin shared her enthusiasm for the relocation with Fox News Digital during the inaugural “Rocky Day” celebration in December, expressing, “It’s an incredible move, I have to say I’m really happy with our move and our change.” Reflecting on their decision, she remarked, “I was born and raised there, two of our kids were born there, but now everyone’s out, our daughters moved to the East Coast … so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California.” Flavin highlighted the positive aspects of the move, emphasizing the opportunity for new experiences and friendships in their adopted state of Florida.
In his Netflix documentary “Sly,” Mr. Stallone opened up about the relocation, citing its potential to invigorate his creative process. “I wasn’t moving because, ‘Oh, wow, I wanted another beautiful view.’ Any time changing that paradigm which you become used to, it’s literally to jump-start that process again,” he explained.
Ms. Flavin addressed concerns about crime rates in their decision, stating, “There’s crime everywhere, there’s crime in Florida, too, so I didn’t move because of crime. You can find it anywhere you look, even in small towns.” She emphasized that the primary motivation for the move was the desire for change and new experiences, underscoring the transient nature of life and the importance of embracing growth opportunities.
This move follows a growing list of celebrities moving to the “Sunshine State” including Jeff Bezos, Guy Fieri, and Tom Brady.
