Authorities in California arrested a man for allegedly breaking into Canadian rapper Drake’s home in Beverly Hills on Thursday, a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) official said on Friday.
Following an investigation and review of surveillance footage, police identified the alleged suspect, who was later located and arrested near the mansion, Moore said, noting that the man was booked on burglary charges.
The man’s name was not revealed.
The network reported that Drake, whose birth name is Aubrey Drake Graham, was not at the property at the time of the break-in.
It’s not the first time the 36-year-old singer’s $75 million mansion was targeted by burglars.
In July 2022, a 23-year-old man was arrested at the Beverly Crest home on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing, the LAPD told news outlets at the time.
After being questioned by authorities, the unidentified intruder claimed Drake was his father and he was just waiting for him at the property. However, the police didn’t buy his story and took him into custody for trespassing.
The intruder never made it inside the house.
Last year, Drake bought the massive 10-bedroom property from British music icon Robbie Williams, who sold the estate for about $42 million more than he paid for it. Williams bought the mansion in 2015 for $32.7 million.
