Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay drew some backlash after sharing a photo of himself carrying his new son in a baby carrier.
The British chef showed a photo of him carrying 2-month-old Oscar as he was strapped to a low-hanging baby carrier.
The boy’s face appears to be smashed against the carrier.
While some people joked that the baby looks like Ramsay when he is yelling at other chefs on his reality TV shows, some said that he shouldn’t be carrying a baby like that.
One user wrote, “Gorgeous. You can have Oscar higher so his head is close enough to kiss. ! Loved carrying my little Elsie, better to have them close to you and your beating heart.”
Another elaborated, “Congratulations! Could you please wear your baby properly so your baby’s face is not squished and in discomfort. I hope this is just for the picture and you don’t actually wear your baby like this. So sad!”
Another user added, “Get a lillebaby carrier! That thing looks painful!” Yet another person chimed in with, “Your baby carrier is too low down…”
“Baby-wearing? This is the wrong way. Take some lessons and you'll love wearing your baby rightly and safely,” said another person.
However, at least one person came to his defense.
“Everybody needs to calm down about the baby. This isn’t his first kid and the baby will be perfectly fine. [Expletive], people have gotten so sensitive about everything!” said one.
Another said, “People really need to mind their own business we have use those devices to carry my grandchildren and even my great-grandchild why can’t people just leave other people alone your baby is adorable just like all your other children you are very blessed I enjoy watching your shows keep up the good work I wish I could just spend a day with you cooking and learning you are amazing.”
In April, he announced the birth of his son.
Oscar now has siblings Megan, 21; 19-year-old twins Holly and Jack; and Matilda, 17.
Gordon and Tana, 44, announced in January that Tana was expecting again.
In 2016, she suffered a miscarriage, which the couple talked about publicly.
Regarding the miscarriage, he wrote on Facebook at the time: “Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months.
“We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done.”
He and Tana tied the knot in 1996.
