Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Released From Hospital Following Severe Stroke

Snoop Dogg’s daughter Cori Broadus has been released from the hospital a week after she suffered a severe stroke.

The 24-year-old told her Instagram followers on Wednesday that her recovery was going well and that she would be going home.

“My ct scan of my chest came back normal and I’m going home today,” Ms. Broadus shared in an Instagram story on Jan. 24, according to E! News. “I can prolly cry omgggg.”

She also expressed gratitude for the support she has received since first revealing her major health scare on Thursday, Jan. 18.

“Thank you, thank you for the continuous prayers, love, etc.,” Ms. Broadus wrote.

After arriving home, she shared a snap of the “welcome home” banner that greeted her.

Ms. Broadus is the youngest of three children the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper shares with his wife, Shante Broadus. Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, and his wife have been married since 1997.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Broadus posted a heartfelt tribute to her daughter alongside a throwback photo of herself with Ms. Broadus and another relative.

“To The Strongest Person I Know,” the elder Broadus wrote. “My Baby. My Warrior. Honored God Chose Me To Be A Vessel To Bring You Into The World. My Princess. 👑 💜 💜 ”

Ms. Broadus shared her mother’s post with the added caption, “Brb going to cry my eyes out really quick.”

The 24-year-old was the first to reveal her condition and hospitalization on Jan. 18.

“I had a severe stroke this am,” she wrote on her Instagram story from her hospital room. “I started breaking down crying when they told me. Like, I’m only 24. What did I do in my past to deserve all this?”

Open About Her Health Battles

The young woman has openly spoken about her health challenges, including her battle with lupus, which was diagnosed when she was 6. Lupus is a painful, chronic autoimmune disease that can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, and heart, as well as other organs, according to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Throughout Ms. Broadus’ hospital stay, she provided her followers with updates on her condition.

On Sunday, Jan. 21, she shared encouraging news, along with a selfie from the hospital, according to E! News.

“God is working overtime you hear me!” she wrote. “My kidneys were doing terrible.. Doctors came in this am and said they are improving much.”

The following day, Snoop Dogg also gave an update on his daughter while attending the Los Angeles premiere of his new sports comedy film, “The Underdoggs.”

“She’s doing a little bit better,” he told People.

Then, on Tuesday, Ms. Broadus told her followers that she would “likely” be going home within 24 hours, Yahoo! News reported.

The cause of Ms. Broadus’ stroke has not been publicly revealed. While it is known that lupus can lead to stroke, it is unclear whether that condition was the cause in this case.

Nearly three years ago, Cori also shared her mental health struggles, including a previous suicide attempt.
