Pop singer Sia tweeted on the night of Sept. 10, about her 8-year sobriety by writing “Eight years sober today. I love you, keep going. You can do it.”
Her message was retweeted over 11,000 times, which has more than 1,200 comments. Her followers not only admired the 42-year-old singer’s efforts on battling her addiction but also were inspired by her not giving up.
“For one reason or another it never happened for me. Then I got seriously addicted to Vicodin and Oxycodone, and I was always a drinker but I didn’t know I was an alcoholic. I was really unhappy being an artist and I was getting sicker and sicker,” she told Billboard in a 2013 cover story for the outlet, opening up about she needed to regroup.

Sia also shared a screenshot of her tweet onto her Instagram account, and it too retained lots of fans’ positive comments and cheering.
One of the fans @jwfanep commented, “awesome.. congrats sincerely from this fan... I have always fear that you would ruin your career as Hollywood can be a toxic environment. Please stay on the right path as your fans love you and need you.”
