Fans were immediately taken aback by Crowe, who looks nearly unrecognizable from his heyday in the early 2000s.
Other stars attached to the project include Naomi Watts, Seth MacFarlane, and John Finn.
“In many ways, the collision between the media and politics has come to define the world we live in today,” David Nevins, Showtime Networks president, told Variety “We’ve seen this phenomenon depicted on screen as far back as the story of Charles Foster Kane,” he added of the show.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Crowe revealed that even when he was most successful as an actor, he just wanted to be home.
He added: “People go: ‘You are a movie star – surely you can call those shots.’ But I am not that kind of an actor. I look for the role that excites me and work with whoever that director happens to be, wherever he wants to shoot the film.”
“The Loudest Voice” premieres on June 30.
