Roseanne Barr spoke in a new interview about her “fatal mistake” in the series of events that led to her show being canceled by ABC was apologizing.
“They said, ‘You made a fatal mistake … apologizing to the Left.’ Once you apologize to them they never forgive, they just try to beat you down until you don’t exist. That’s how they do things. They don’t accept apologies.”
What Happened
Barr had become a regular Twitter user as the reboot of her show “Roseanne” skyrocketed in ratings.Jarett, who is African-American, served as the senior adviser to the president of the United States under the Obama administration.
ABC executives decided to cancel “Roseanne,” despite the program’s immense popularity.
“Roseanne” finished as the No. 1 scripted series across networks, averaging a 5.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 19.3 million total viewers.
Barr Says People Were ‘Ill-Informed’
Barr said in the new podcast interview that many of the people who wanted her to apologize over a comment she made were “ill-informed about me.”“They put me in a box with them. And how do they think that’s gonna affect me? They don’t think. They’re under mind control.”
Moving to Israel
Boteach said in a Twitter post that he appreciated Barr joining him. “My friend Roseanne Barr is in amazing form and a highly revelatory mood as she joins me to discuss the weekly Torah reading and the Promised Land. Listen to an incredible discussion and interview!!” he wrote.Barr told the Rabbi in the podcast that she’s planning to move to Israel while the “Roseanne” spinoff “The Connors” airs in October.
“I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers. I have saved a few pennies and I’m so lucky I can go,” she said.
“It’s my great joy and privilege to be a Jewish woman.”
“The Connors” includes many of the main stars from “Roseanne,” minus Roseanne herself.
