Robert Redford has worked as an actor for six decades, and he recently told Entertainment that his new movie, “The Old Man & The Gun” will be his final work before his retirement.

In the upcoming movie, Redford plays criminal Forrest Tucker who robbed banks and was caught, but then escaped from prison successfully 17 times over 60 years. Redford is a co-producer for the movie, and he’s indecisive about whether he will direct any film in the future or not.

Meanwhile the film director David Lowery doubted that Redford will really retire from being an actor this time.

“He says it’s his last leading role, at the very least, the last time he’ll star in a movie, but I don’t think he can stop. He just loves it too much,” Lowery said in an interview with USA Today.
In fact, Redford talked about quitting acting in 2016 during a Q&A session with his grandson Dylan Redford, who is an artist and gallerist. At that time, Redford was getting tired of acting and thinking about going back to painting or other artwork.
