Police said drugs and guns were found on the private plane that carried rapper Juice WRLD, who reportedly suffered a seizure and later died after arriving at Chicago’s Midway Airport over the weekend. Reports said that he may have overdosed and was given Narcan.
During the search of the plane, the 21-year-old rapper suffered an apparent seizure that led to his death.
He was administered the opioid-reversal agent Narcan by a federal agent before he was taken to the hospital and later was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m., the report said.
The local Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said on Monday that it couldn’t determine Higgins’ cause of death, according to reports.
In the meantime, a spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department told E! that Higgins “suffered what appears to be some type of medical emergency according to people traveling with him.”
“There were no signs of foul play and all individuals aboard the aircraft are cooperating with CPD and have given all of their information. Currently we are awaiting the Cook County medical examiner on the cause and manner of death,” said the police statement.
Two men identified as his security guards—Christopher Long, 36, and Henry Dean, 27—were charged with misdemeanors for illegally possessing guns and ammunition, the paper reported.
Several rappers posted tributes after his death.
“I would like to see all the younger talent live longer and I hate waking up hearing another story filled with blessings was cut short,” Drake wrote, according to the Tribune.
